Hoje em dia, somos bombardeados na mídia por corpos perfeitos, malhados e bem treinados. Olhamos para modelos, atrizes e atores nas capas de revistas e ficamos imaginando o quanto aquela pessoa se esforçou para chegar aquele corpo e pensamos que nunca poderemos alcançar padrões como estes. Por que não? As pessoas que ali vemos são humanas como nós e alcançaram seus objetivos com muito suor, dedicação e disciplina. Mas ter um corpo bonito não é a única coisa que realmente importa. Saúde, qualidade de vida e bem-estar são objetivos muito mais importantes e prazerosos do que podemos imaginar.

Já foi comprovado por diversos estudos que o corpo humano tem capacidade para ``funcionar`` por até 120 anos, mas com o estilo de vida que levamos torna-se impossível chegar a esta idade. Uma alimentação errada, uso excessivo de bebidas alcoólicas, tabagismo, estresse e principalmente sedentarismo são fatores fundamentais na abreviação da vida do ser humano e na distruição do seu perfeito estado de funcionamento.
